eBay Motors announces the eBay Guaranteed Fit Program

Feb. 14, 2023 – eBay Motors introduces Guaranteed Fit, a program where Your car, truck, and motorcycle Parts & Accessories listings now have enhanced fitment functionality and returns protections for items that don't fit. An added “Fits your vehicle” checkmark will give buyers more confidence and trust that their purchases will fit their vehicles.

How it works

When a buyer searches for a part or accessory using their vehicle details, we’ll check their details against the fitment compatibility table in your listings and only show items that fit the buyer’s vehicle details. If the buyer purchases an eligible part or accessory, indicated by a green “Fits your vehicle” checkmark in the listing, but the part doesn’t fit, eBay will cover the return shipping costs.

eBay Guaranteed Fit benefits to sellers

Fewer returns. As buyers learn to provide vehicle fitment details to return better item matches in their search results, the risk of potential returns due to incorrect fitment is reduced. Buyers get a free return label. In the unlikely event that a buyer needs to return an item because it doesn’t fit, eBay will pay for return shipping.

Categories eligible for eBay Guaranteed Fit protections

Most items in the Car & Truck category and Motorcycle category are covered by protections with the exception of tires and wheels. More categories will be added in the future. For items to be eligible, you must add compatibility information to your items that are listed in eligible categories. Learn more about parts compatibility listings.

Subsidiary to create to create a single privacy platform

Vodafone Logo

A subsidiary of Orange, Telefónica, DT and Vodafone to create a single privacy platform for digital advertising

February 10, 2023 -- The operators Orange, Telefónica, Deutsche Telekom (DT) and Vodafone will create a common digital advertising platform in Europe designed to consider the explicit consent of consumers on the use of their personal data.

Orange explained in a statement on Friday, after the European Commission gave its approval to this new subsidiary in which each of the partners will have a 25% stake, that "this solution should benefit consumers, advertisers and publishers at the same time".

The company, which will be headquartered in Belgium and managed by "an independent management" under the supervision of a administrative board appointed by the four operators, is designed from the start to mix European data protection rules, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy directive.

The GDPR has developed into a model for many other laws across the world, including in Turkey, Mauritius, Chile, Japan, Brazil, South Korea, South Africa, Argentina and Kenya. As of 6 October 2022, the United Kingdom retains the law in identical form despite no longer being an EU member state. The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), adopted on 28 June 2018, has many similarities with the GDPR.

Per Orange's presentation, users will have to provide explicit consent to authorize advertisers to send their communications to them through publishers and will be able to rescind in a single click.

The only information companies will share will be a unique digital code derived from the mobile or fixed network subscription that will be anonymized with a pseudonym. This will allow brands and publishers to recognize users, group them into different categories and tailor their content to specific groups, according to their advertising objectives.

Users will be able to make permission arrangements either directly on the brands' or publishers' websites, or on a dedicated portal specifically for privacy protection, which the French company asserts to be "easily accessible". The objective is to offer "a great improvement in the control, transparency and protection of consumer data" that is now collected, dispersed, and stored on a substantial scale by non-European firms.

Per the European Commission, the establishment of this company "will not significantly reduce competition in the French, German, Italian and Spanish markets". This includes the provision of digital identification services for targeted advertising and site optimization purposes, the retail provision of mobile telecommunications services or the retail provision of fixed Internet access services.

The Commission also sees no danger to competition in the retail provision of audiovisual services and the supply of online advertising space.

Instagram is Helping You with Updated Features

Instagram is Helping You Focus With Quiet Mode

Instagram is launching ‘Quiet mode’ to help people focus, and to encourage people to set boundaries with friends and followers. Once enabled, you won’t receive any notifications, your profile’s activity status will change to ‘In quiet mode’ and we’ll automatically send an autoreply when someone DMs you.

Instagram users have told them that they sometimes want to take time for themselves and are seeking ways to focus at night, while studying, and during work or school.

With quiet mode one can simply customize hours to fit your schedule and once the feature is turned off, we’ll show you a quick summary of notifications so you can catch up on what you missed. ‘Quiet mode’ is available to everyone in the US, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and Instagram hopes to expand to more countries soon.

Instagram Supports Teens’ safety with Updated Parental Supervision Tools

Instagram aims to help parents be more aware of the choices their teens make and make it easier for them to have discussions with their teens about their settings through Family Center and supervision tools.

Instagram added the ability for parents to see their teen’s Instagram settings, including privacy and account settings. If their teen updates a setting, parents will receive a notification so they can talk to their teen about the change. Parents can now also view accounts their teen has blocked.

To learn more about the available parental supervision tools, including how to set time limits, schedule breaks, be notified when teens share a report and more, visit Family Center link on Instagram.

These new features are part of Instagram’s ongoing efforts to ensure people have experiences that work for them, and that they have more control over the time they spend online and the types of content they see.

IEHP encourages residents to get vaccinated

IEHP encourages its patrons to maintain wellness

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., Jan. 2023 -- Flu and COVID and RSV, oh my! Staying on the road to good health doesn't have to be scary. A new print and digital media campaign, Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) encourages its patrons to take their best shot at health and wellness this season by getting their annual flu vaccine.

Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) is one of the top 10 largest Medicaid health plans and the largest not-for-profit Medicare-Medicaid plan in the country. In its 26th year, IEHP is supporting more than 1.6 million residents in Riverside and San Bernardino counties who are enrolled in Medicaid or Cal MediConnect Plans.

The campaign will reach Inland Empire residents through commercials on local television stations, radio spots, community outreach and social media posts, guiding them to IEHP's website for vaccine information and details.

"No one wants to be slowed down in 2023," said IEHP Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Takashi Wada. "This campaign is to serve as a reminder that staying healthy and well can be as easy as stopping by a vaccine clinic or checking in with your primary care physician."

The campaign began in winter 2022 and will run through spring 2023. "The flu isn't unique to a particular time and the flu vaccine can protect you throughout the year. Like the COVID-19 vaccine, it can also substantially reduce symptoms in case you do contract it."

To receive a free flu vaccine, residents in Riverside County can visit ruhealth.org/flu. Residents in San Bernardino County can visit dhp.sbcounty.gov to find free local clinics. Flu vaccines are always free for IEHP members. To learn more, visit iehp.org.

TALENTHOUSE TO PARTNER WITH NERVE BANKING ON CREATORS App

Talenthouse to partner with nerve banking on creator/influencer financial management app

LONDON, Oct. 20, 2022 -- Talenthouse will invest up to $7 million in cash and shares in Nerve, an embedded banking solution for the US creator economy. This is the first time Nerve will be providing their embedded banking proposition on a private-label basis. TalentPlus, Talenthouse's one-stop-financial app built for Creators has partnered with Nerve Banking as well.

Through this investment and partnership, TalentPlus plans to introduce in the US in late-November and move into several markets in 2023 including the UK and Latin America to lessen the financial burdens of Creators. Furthermore, TalentPlus plans to add personal banking services to its offering in 2023 across all markets to benefit the Creator Economy.

Made possible with the dawn of Open Banking in early 2018, TalentPlus is a vertical banking solution that supplies a financial suite of services for Creators that goes beyond the offerings of commercial banks. The concept emerged from a Talenthouse pilot program called ElloU launched early in 2021.

Through TalentPlus professional creatives will be able to send invoices, download tax statements and receive advances all within a single app, with many more creative-focused services to follow. Talenthouse's business model requires a financial services vertical, to ensure its community can receive its payments in a timely manner.

The Creator Economy is not limited to social media influencers and YouTubers – it is a global phenomenon of working creative professionals. Adobe estimates (August 2022) that less than 15% of the 303 million creators across nine key markets that were surveyed are influencers. The sector is estimated to be worth in excess of $2.8 trillion and is heavily influenced by digital advertising needs.

The TalentPlus solution comes at a time when Creators want to merge their passion with their profession and monetize their skills. TalentPlus will merge local and global financial service offerings seamlessly, taking advantage of Open Banking solutions where available to best service the rapidly evolving Creator Economy. TalentPlus will ensure that there is a direct payout with no loss in cash, typically resulting from payment provider fees, for Creators on the platform when paid out from brands.

Clare McKeeve, CEO of Talenthouse states: "This is a significant step into the U.S. market for Talenthouse. We plan to recreate this financial services model across several markets in the near future including the UK and Latin America. We have been incredibly impressed by and have huge confidence in the Nerve team, underlined by our significant strategic investment."

John Waupsh, CEO of Nerve states: "We are super excited about collaborating with Talenthouse and the TalentPlus team to drive innovation for creative businesses and delivering financial services to an underserved community. This partnership will expand our payments and banking services to Talenthouse's U.S.-based creators, dramatically improving the financial services available to the creator economy."

Michael Callas, SVP and Global Head of TalentPlus states: "Nerve is a game changer for creatives in the United States. Thanks to our strategic partnership we will be perfectly positioned to become creatives' single point of access into banking, insurance, accounting and a substantial suite of lifestyle and business services. We're poised to help millions to create freely!"

The feedback from Creators uncovered a desire for a lifestyle-centric financial solution that focuses on helping Creators with their personal and business money management. This unique sector of specialists has been generally underserved by mainstream financial institutions that have taken an inflexible approach to serving their customers' needs.
